"CHEF STEFF'S PICK " The cycle source magazine.

By: Uncle Rock 2004.

I've always enjoyed a good game of pool. I've always enjoyed good

food. When I discovered Shootz Cafe, a bar, restaurant, billiards

and dance club on the southside, I knew I was probably going to

like this place. My latest pick is Pittsbugh's only upscale cafe and

billiards club (a.k.a, a pool hall with class). It's a pool hall, but you

never seen a pool hall that serves food this good...............

"MUNCH GOES TO SHOOTZ CAFE & BILLIARDS"

POST GAZETTE April 23 2004.

Munch was astonished to read, that of all the gin joints in all the

world, post-concert Prince and his crew decided to roll up to Shootz

Cafe & Billiards. Why is Shootz suddenly cool enough to be the

hangout for an international pop legend?. Beats Munch. Maybe just

maybe,it's not easy being Prince. Maybe, beneath the pompadour,

the fluttery shirts, the trousers with crucial bumcovering bits cut

out, to the bottom of his funky, purple soul, Prince is a regular guy

who likes draft beer and barbecue chicken quesadillas. In which

case, Shootz is the place. Prince stopped in on a weeknight........

Munch entered Shootz a reluctant disbeliever and left with

grudging respect.

"A WALK ON THE SOUTH SIDE"   Post gazette 2004.

Fancy Billiards, beer, mid priced casual dinner and plush couches,

not much of a happy hour crowd, but Shootz is a comfortable

place for first dates, its a place for friends to gather. Shootz

recently made a contribution to local lore that surely has stunned

a few steel workers. The artist once and again known as Prince

turned up after a show to hang with his touring crew.
